This year marks a special milestone for CoNet as we celebrate our 30th anniversary.

What started in 1996 in Zaandam as an ambitious idea by Marco Ootes and René van het Kaar has grown into a leading specialist in industrial automation. Not long after, Cees Hus joined the company, helping to lay the foundations for what CoNet is today. Driven by a shared passion for technology and the ambition to become the leading Siemens specialist, they embarked on a journey that now spans three decades.

The early years were humble. From a small office on Peperstraat in Zaandam, the team worked hard to build projects, customer relationships, and the future of the company. With a camping table, a single computer shared by several colleagues, and plenty of determination, CoNet developed into an organisation known for its technical expertise, reliability, and personal approach.

From Local Specialist to International Partner

Over the years, CoNet continued to grow step by step. The trust of customers, the dedication of employees, and a strong focus on quality enabled the company to establish itself as a respected name within the industrial automation sector.

Important milestones followed. CoNet became a Siemens Certified Partner and reached a significant achievement in 2021 when it was recognised as a Siemens Expert Partner. That same year, the company strengthened its international presence by opening a new office in Daresbury Park, Warrington, UK, allowing CoNet to support its UK customers more effectively and further expand its footprint across Europe.

People Make the Difference

Despite all the changes, growth, and technological developments over the past 30 years, one thing has remained constant: CoNet's focus on people.

From the very beginning, CoNet has believed that great companies are built by great people. A philosophy often shared by co-founder Marco Ootes:

"You have to hire nice people to have a nice company."

This belief continues to shape CoNet’s culture today. Collaboration, trust, commitment, and personal development remain at the heart of everything we do.

Today, CoNet is led by Managing Director Ferry Boussen. From its offices in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, the company continues to focus on building long-term customer relationships, delivering innovative solutions, and investing in the growth and development of its people.
